Core Network

The core network is the heart of the SMVP operation. It is what provides all the services to the end-users. The core network is located in a professional hosting facility with redundant power, internet and 24x7 monitoring.

The elements that make up the core network are all state of the art hardware and software components.

The web application servers allow URSYS to interface to their billing system via real-time XML to query subscriber information and call detail records in real time.

The billing system is based on the ISPhone platform which provides real-time call rating and reporting.

The softswitch system is based on the ENTICE softswitch family, which provides integrated softswitch, session control, media services and local call features.

The voice mail system provides voice mail storage and retrieval together with an Integrated Voice Response service over the VoIP network.

Satellite Trunk Telephony

At a minimum, URSYS provides a Trunk Telephony VoIP connection via an IPSEC tunnel into the PSTN for ALL their VoIP traffic. If this Trunk Line is to be delivered via Satellite URSYS uses a trunk gateway device, like the Skywire PBX1, to collect VoIP SIP packets, compress them into a G.729 codec data stream, wrap them a IPSEC tunnel and deliver them at “wire speed” to any other G.729 standard gateway. Skywire Trunk Telephony delivered this way is vastly different from VoIP products from Internet based consumer providers, where SIP packets are simply jettisoned into the Internet. Voice quality from providers using non-trunked methods depends entirely upon network congestion at the time and the resulting packet loss due to collision.

In addition, URSYS has already integrated their billing systems and customer care systems to the SMVP platform via XML to improve our service response times.
